Modified Bitumen

The Modified Bitumen Flat Roofing system has been a staple of the  commercial roofing industry in Canada for over 40 years. Originally developed in Europe in the 1960’s, North American manufacturers quickly developed their own Modified Bitumen membranes. The top choice of roofing contractors and building owners for decades, Modified Bitumen is an asphalt-based, fiberglass infused membrane designed for low slope applications.

Modified Bitumen boasts a high tensile strength compared to other roof systems, making it unlikely to crack in freezing temperatures. Durable enough to stand up to the most extreme Canadian weather, a Modified Bitumen roof is also fire-resistant.

We are proud to be a Soprema Certified Contractor and have installed Soprema products on a variety of projects from factories, to golf course club houses, warehouses, churches and schools.

Heat-welded cap sheet membrane composed of a non-woven polyester reinforcement and SBS modified bitumen.

Tests and Certifications

SOPRA-ISO

SOPRA-ISO is a closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam insulation board laminated with a glass-fiber-reinforced organic facer. It can be adhered with hot bitumen, DUOTACK adhesive or mechanically fastened.

  • High dimensional stability
  • Available with square or shiplap edges for an installation that is twice as fast

SOPRA-ISO TAPERED

 
SOPRA-ISO TAPERED is a sloped polyisocyanurate thermal insulation board. It is composed of a closed cell polyisocyanurate foam core between organic facers reinforced with glass fibres. SOPRA-ISO TAPERED is designed to promote positive drainage and used as thermal insulation for SOPREMA roofing systems.
